Tomato 2019

We have a wide variety of tomatoes this year including: sandwich, heirloom, cherry, grape, plum, yellow pear, and even purple. Everyone loves a fresh tomato and there is nothing fresher than picking one from your own garden.

Tomatoes

Amish Paste
  A large, heirloom paste tomato are great for paste or for slicing. The 8-12 oz fruit are much larger than regular paste tomatoes and are thick skinned and nearly seedless. Amish Paste are very juicy and meaty. Indeterminate 85 days

Beefmaster
  A huge beefstake type tomato that is large, meety and delicious. Tomatoes are 18-32 oz, and make a great fat slice on a sandwich with a sweet, mild flavor.

Better Boy
  Large, highly productive and great taste is what Better Boy tomatoes are known for. Perfect for slicing, canning, or sauces, and at 16 oz. are a nice size. Indeterminate 72 days

Big Boy
  One of the best selling tomatoes, Big Boy hase delicious taste, vigorous production, and nice size. Fruit are approximately 10oz – 16 oz. Indeterminate 78 days

Brandywine
  A large, pink Heirloom beefsteak tomato, Brandywine has consistently been a popular variety. With potato type leaves, Brandywine are later ripening 14 oz tomatoes, but the taste is worth the wait with its sweet flavor. Indeterminate 85 days

Carolina Gold
  The Carolina Gold tomato features a unique golden-yellow colored fruit that is low in acid and uniform ripening. This variety is adaptable, and its strong, determinate plant produces mostly extra-large and large fruit throughout the season. Determinate 75 days

Celebrity
  Celebrity is a medium sized (7-8 oz) tomato that produces abundantly and has great taste. A crack resistant tomato and a more compact plant make for a great tomato plant. Semi-determinate 75 days

Cherokee Purple
  A Heirloom tomato, with a great purple color and a very rich flavor comparable to Brandywine. A consistent taste test winner, Cherokee purple produce a large tomato 10 oz to 12 oz. It is one of the best producing Heirloom tomatoes. Indeterminate 85 days

Delicious
  A very large 1-2 lb tomatoes that are crackfree and an excellent slicer make Delicious a great tomato. With a name like Delicious you know that not only are the tomatoes big, but that are very tasty. Indeterminate 77 days

Early Girl
  If you want the earliest tomatoes, then Early Girl is a great choice. Early girl produce large amounts of 5 oz fruit that are meaty with a lot of flavor. A very good producer of early tomatoes. Indeterminate 59 days

German Johnson
  A higher yielding brandywine type tomato, German Johnson is a very good tasting heirloom tomato. With mild flavor, and low acid, German Johnson is a great pick. Tomatoes average 12 – 24 oz and are pink with yellow shoulders. Indeterminate 80 days.

Juliet
  A larger grape tomato, know for flavor and yield. Juliet are great for salads or just fresh off the vine. Grape tomatoes are 1-1.5 oz. and very crack resistant. Indeterminate 60 days

Mortgage Lifter
  Originally developed in the 1930’s by a gardener who successfully grew and sold enough of this tomato variety to pay off his mortgage! Mortgage Lifter is a huge heirloom beefsteak that puts out heavy yields of low-acid, pink fruits that are a constant taste test winner. Indeterminate 80 days

Mountain Fresh Plus
  Heavy producer of 8-16 oz tomatoes on a more compact plant, make Mountain Fresh Plus a very good choice of tomato. Mountain Fresh tolerates wet-summer conditions and just keeps producing beautify, tasty tomatoes. We grow this variety and Mountain Spring variety to sell at the Farmer’s Market in Ambridge and Beaver. Determinate 79 days

Mountain Spring
  Early maturing and great yields of 10-12 oz tomatoes that are firm and flavorful. A great sandwich, slicing, or salad tomato, Mountain Spring are a great choice for home gardens. We grow this variety and Mountain Fresh Plus variety to sell at the Farmer’s Market in Ambridge and Beaver. Determinate 72 days

Mr. Stripey
  A very large, heirloom tomato with yellow and red striping, Mr. Stripey is known for flavor. With a mild, very sweet tasting fruit that are 1-2 pounds and a beautify color, Mr. Stripey is a very nice Heirloom tomato. Indeterminate 80 days

New Girl
  Virtually as early as “Early Girl,” but bigger, with improved disease resistance and even better flavor. Bright red, 5 to 7-oz. fruits with tart, “real tomato” flavor. Holds well on the vine and is widely adapted to almost any growing condition. Indeterminate 61 days

Oxheart
  Heart-shaped fruits have a sweet, rich, complex flavor and are very meaty while still being juicy. Indeterminate 85 days

Roma
  A compact plant, meaty tomato with few seeds, make Roma a great paste tomato. Roma is a heirloom that makes an excellent sauce with a thick skin that cooks down into a thick sauce. Great for canning, spaghetti sauce, or chopped into an omelet. Determinate 70 days

Rutgers
  A medium sized (7 oz) heirloom tomato that has a nice flavor and thick flesh. Determinate 73 days

San Marzano
  An heirloom italian roma/paste tomato, are larger than Roma tomatoes and slightly later. A heavy producer, of 3.5″ – 4″ tomatoes are great for canning. Indeterminate 85 days

Super Sweet 100
  A larger plant with an unbelievable amount of bite sized cherry tomatoes, make Super Sweet 100 a great variety for your garden. With the great taste and great yield, it is perfect to eat right off the vine, or for snacking or salads. Indeterminate 65 days

Sun Sugar
  One of the best tasting of all types of tomatoes, Sun Sugar are a yellow cherry that are orange at their peak. A heavy producer are fantastic for salads or just for snacking, Sun sugar are a must for every home garden. Indeterminate 75 days

Taxi Yellow
  Bright yellow and 4 – 6 oz tomatoes are smooth and blemish free. The fruit is meaty, mild, and acid free. Great for a salad or for a sandwich. Determinate 70 days

Yellow Pear
  A small heirloom tomato that are yellow and pear shaped. Although the size may be small that taste is big and look great in a salad. Indeterminate 78 days
